The definition of writing is “the activity or skill of marking coherent words on paper and composing text.” but even the definition of writing is a little to black and white. writing has been with us since the beginning even or undecipherable scribbles were made into writing words, the sentences and then finally blog posts and essays like this. But writing is not just the simple paper and pencils it also uses many different mediums such as technology is a major one in the 21st century with everyone using laptops, phones and other electronics. The essay “writing is not natural” talks about how people will always work on and have writing in their life. Writing is not only emails and writing on a chalkboard but it can also be writing creative things like script or poems and even short stories that could be published for kids one day. Writing is also what shares or emotions our ideas and beliefs. We can write all of those down and create books for other people to read or even believe in like the bible and books from other religions. For instance, other people can experience it too. Writing is the effectiveness of speech and language. It helps us learn it better. That’s how people become bilingual because they can read the writing in a different language and apps are writing communication in the language, our speech and language was made so that’s how we read in our heads. My favorite part was the ending paragraph where it talks about how authors should not blame themselves for their shortcomings. The line that speaks the most to me is “these limitations are unimportant or ignorable”. It’s talking about how we all have problems when we switch our writing. I know a lot about this because I have had a huge problem all my life with simple grammatical errors since I started writing, and sometimes missing simple instructions that I read but then I forget the minute I look away from the paper. So the quote makes me feel a lot better about my own shortcomings because I struggle with my writing and I let it affect me a lot but this makes me feel a lot better especially with my essays and other writings but also with the blog post and many other writing things in the future even if it is the simples story writing will always be the most important skill I will always be the most important skill I will ever have.
